I love my little home and as the nights are drawing in I really want to give my home an Autumn/Winter mini makeover! With Christmas just round the corner I don’t want to spend a fortune and love to snuggle up in style with cosy cushions and textured throws all round my home, if you’re like me you can never have enough cushions, right!
When I purchased my leather sofa above I wanted a classic style, and something hard wearing that would age well over time with having a very boisterous two year old son! 🙂 I chose a warm French grey colour leather so continuing with my theme. I added faux fur cushions and knitted throws in different textures to transform my living room from summer to autumn/winter ready, in natural tones to complement my overall look.
I have purchased so much of my home furniture over the years from Next as I absolutely LOVE everything they do from home to fashion, and personalised presents they’re always bang on trend. I trust them to produce great quality products at affordable prices…What is there not to love!
I have a large sofa and snuggle chair in my living room so when styling my cushions and throws I feel the cushions look great when placed in groups of either three or five, I can’t tell you why exactly it just works for me! Don’t be scared to play around with the positioning of your cushions as I sometimes like them on the end or placed all scatted in the middle, it’s personal preference really whatever feels right for you! I love changing things round making my room feel more relaxed.
There’s lots of fabulous faux fur cushions and throws out at the moment, I’m loving the natural tipped faux fur cushions from Next. My leather sofa can look and feel quite cold but by adding different sized cushions in different textures and materials adds a warm snuggly feel to any room. They look fab with their tonal textures and are great quality, perfect for cosying up on the sofa.
I’m usually not one for cushions with logo’s or writing on them, I tend to go with stripes or patterns for a statement look, but when I spotted this Let’s Stay Home cushion from Next, It just made me smile, it’s fun and I love the 3D effect textured text. I think buying a statement cushion is one of the easiest, and most inexpensive ways to update and give a modern look to any room.
Having throws on your sofa or chair just gives that extra textured layer and adds a warm soft snuggly feel we all love on cold dark autumn/winter nights. They are my perfect warm accessory and can be used either in the living room or in a bedroom, if you’re like me and love to swap and change things about! I have quite a few throws all over chairs throughout my home as I love that relaxed feeling when I walk into a room. Throws definitely add to that cosy relaxed atmosphere.
I just love chunky knits so as I was looking for a throw in the new Next collection catalogue AW/17 to compliment my cushions the colour and texture of this throw was just perfect! It really adds a softness and cosy feel. The size of the throw is perfect for my large sofa, and fits across a double bed too! and I love that’s it’s 100% cotton, as it’s a natural material which feels lovely against your skin. Cotton is a really durable material and also works brilliantly in my living room with real oak floors and wooden furniture continuing with my natural theme.
I hope you love my snuggle in style with cosy cushions and textured throws as much as I do! My throw, faux fur cushions, and statement cushion all came in at under £100 pounds! which I think is pretty amazing for my mini-makeover. I feel ready to embrace the cold dark nights and I cant wait to test it all out when the fire is lit. A few scented candles scattered around my living room, (that’s another thing I need to add into my next shopping trolley!) and all my family is snuggled up on the sofa watching our favourite films, my perfect cosy night in! It’s always the simple things isn’t it. I’d love to hear how you like to cosy up your rooms for the coming season.
