We’ve been looking forward to this weekend for ages, you know how precious they are spending them together as a family. Visiting The Royal Lancashire Show 2017 was everything we had hoped for and more!
As we arrived there’s loads of stalls and Marquee’s to have a nosey round. At the first stall we were greeted by a lovely lady called Steph who passed on a wealth of knowledge and information on our local wildlife trust, to which I was hooked all amazing places to visit right on our doorstep. Little man loves all wildlife and all the little animals just had him smiling from ear to ear! The wildlife trust shares loads of tips and advice for keeping our little ones happy and wild throughout the summer hols, with events being held right throughout the year, great for little beasts adventures!
Great show’s held throughout the day, all the enthusiasm of the young ones riding their ponies was lovely to see and our little man couldn’t take his eyes off them, he just wanted to have a go! Great ring displays of some magnificent horses and we managed to get up and personal with some really beautiful cow’s! and James got to watch a sheep being sheared, his little face was a picture, priceless!
The Sheep Show was loads of fun! nine different breeds of sheep with lots of information on the sheep and their wool, a great compare he was hilarious, definitely a show not to be missed, with music and dancing sheep! what more could you ask for 🙂
As the heavens opened, our Great British summer at it’s best!, we all made a dash to the marquees to see what was going on, we were greeted with the biggest cockerel’s we had ever seen! I kid you not, check out this bad boy! 😉
Again loads of information on the cockerel’s and hen’s with different ranges of eggs to see. I thought it was great that the tables were at a height that little ones could look and see everything on display. James loved it! all and the staff were so friendly and knowledge on all local produce and where best to purchase them, brilliant!
How could you walk passed this and not resist! The food tents where amazing loads of local food & drink to try before you buy, I could have stayed in this tent all day! The local cheeses and wines being offered were out of this world! could have spent a small fortune just on the fudge alone! 🙂
The rain finally held off and we were back outside heading to all the military stands, as daddy is an ex- marine this was where little man and daddy had loads of fun especially in the helicopter, we couldn’t get James out! As we spotted some huge tractors in the background we managed to distracted James enough to want to go and seek them out. Everyone at the show couldn’t do enough to help and make your day special there’s so much to see and do with show’s going on all round you, a great family day out!
How much fun did we all have watching The Extreme Mountain Bike Show, Danny Butler was great showing all his stunts and comparing. He kept you on the edge of your seats, lots of fun listening to him at the same time. A fab family show to watch if you get the chance.
What a great family day out we had at The Royal Lancashire Show 2017 there’s everything there from Combine Harvester’s to Harley Davidson’s. Prize winning Horse’s, sheep, cow’s and dog’s. The best local food and drink in the county all in one place well worth the visit and we’ll be looking forward to visiting you again next year. Hope you’ve had a great weekend 🙂
